Nitin Gadkari was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India on May 27, 1957. He earned a Master's Degree in Commerce and later studied Law.

Political Career

Gadkari's political journey commenced in 1989 when he was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

He served as the Minister of Public Works Department (PWD) from 1995 to 1999.

Gadkari has held various other ministerial positions, including Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

In 2013, he became the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's main opposition party at the time.

Gadkari opted against seeking a second term as BJP president in 2019.
