Boeing Starliner's Third Attempt: A Success!
A Historic Launch for NASA and Boeing
After two failed attempts, Boeing's Starliner spacecraft finally achieved its first successful launch with astronauts aboard. On May 20th, 2023, United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket propelled the spacecraft into orbit, carrying NASA astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Sunita Williams.

The Crew Flight Test is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the Starliner spacecraft and the Atlas V rocket. This mission is crucial for NASA's commercial crew program, which aims to certify private companies to launch astronauts to and from the International Space Station (ISS).

After successfully separating from the Atlas V rocket, Starliner will navigate to the ISS and dock with the Harmony module. Wilmore and Williams will spend several days aboard the ISS, conducting various experiments and testing Starliner's systems.
