Borussia Dortmund claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

Emre Can's first-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Dortmund took a slender advantage into the second leg in Paris.

The match was played at a high tempo from the outset, with both teams creating chances in the early stages.

However, it was Dortmund who took the lead in the 24th minute, as Can headed home from a corner.

PSG pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but they were unable to break down a resolute Dortmund defence.

The result leaves Dortmund in a strong position ahead of the second leg in Paris on March 8.
