Real Madrid have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League after beating holders Manchester City 4-3 on penalties at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday night.
The match was a tense and tight affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to find a breakthrough in regulation time or extra time.
In the penalty shootout, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was the hero, saving two of Manchester City's spot-kicks from Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden.
Karim Benzema, Rodrygo, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos all scored their penalties for Real Madrid, while Sergio Ramos scored the winning penalty.
The victory was a huge boost for Real Madrid, who have now won their 14th Champions League title.
For Manchester City, it was a disappointing end to their campaign, but they can take heart from the fact that they pushed Real Madrid all the way.
In the semi-finals, Real Madrid will face either Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
